Default Strange lines in image after stacking.

    Hi all.

So Ive been slowly trying to learn about stacking AVI files and images and, while I have a lot to learn Im quite pleased with it so far.

I stacked a video of the Moon today and these strange lines have appeared on the final image.

I used Shotcut to trim my video. I also used a "pan" filter to try and stabalise the Moon as it was filmed AFocaly with my Samsung Galaxy S9+ and obviously the Moon moved across my eyepiece.

Not expecting great results but heres what I did....

    1...Used PIPP with my AVI.
    2...Used Autostakkert 3 to stack.
3...Used Registax6 wavelets to fine tune.

I do have GIMP to process too but havnt on this image as these lines seem not to be right.
My gut feeling is as the Moon was moving across the EP and Ive stacked, the "layers" could be miss-aligned but I wanted to ask here before getting in a bigger mess than where I am! BTW...the lines were there before I messed with any wavelets, etc.

Dont laugh, but heres my finished image....

I can provide more info on each element if required but if theres an easy explanation it saves typing and forum space!

Thankyou in advance.....Im hoping its just something Ive done wrong.

This is normal, it's due to the target drifting, one is ment to crop the edges

Yep, just stacking artifacts. Trim the rinds off with Gimp and you'll be good.

I use a similar process. I don't mess with PIPP (not quite sure I see the need in my case, but my case may be ignorance is bliss as they say ). I go straight to Autostakkert and then to Registax for wavelets. Crop the uglies with PS and I'm good.

Even some of the more expensive gear has tracking problems, almost every imager will have some sort of drifting in thier images, being at high magification also scales tracking errors, one method to help is use crosshairs and manualy send small pulses to re alighn the target while capturing, some software like fire capture have guiding for planets to keep the target in one spot, this will reduce clipping on the edges, the artifact is from inconsistent data being stacked from miss alighment
