Default SkyWatcher Star Adventurer vs SkyWatcher AZ GTi WiFi mount, help me decide.

I've been planning on getting the Star Adventurer for some time now but have just discovered the Sky-Watcher AZ GTi WiFi mount which has similar specs. I have a Nikon D5300 DSLR and plan to get a Sky-Watcher Evostar 72ED DS-Pro OTA in the future, and maybe also a dedicated AP camera.

They both have a payload of 5kg, both have EQ capability, and both are about the same price. The AZ GTi has the advantage of GOTO and from what I can see on forums is good for Astrophotography(my main requirement).

Being 100% new to astrophotography and quite new to astronomy I can't see much difference apart from the GOTO feature. Which is why I need more knowledgeable people to point me in the right direction before I buy.

    Thanks.

The SW Adventurer mount will handle a camera for astrophotography. (I never used one, but I'm judging from the specs). It will not handle an Evostar 72ED -- at least not for AP. This is a tracking mount that has to be polar aligned. Good for AP.

As far as the AZ GTi mount -- well, in general, for AP, an AZ mount is not recommended. (Again, I never used one, but I'm judging from the specs). So I would go with the Star Adventurer instead of the AZ mount.

I speak only of these two mounts, because you mentioned them. Lots more out there on the market.

I'm also considering the Star Adventurer. I'll be interested in hearing what your final decision is, and how whatever you end up with works for you.

The AZ GTi can be used on a wedge (the same one as the SA) and the 'Pro' App gives EQ control.
The main benefit of the SA is that it has a guide port, whereas i don't think it's the same for the GTi.
A friend has used the SA for imaging with a short refractor and got successful 10 minute guided images.

I have a SA and have used it with a dSLR up to 200mm with some success, but I'm tempted by the GTi, albeit mainly for visual.
