The best I ever managed with my AVX and C8 SCT was 30 sec. I only managed that once (after many attempts). I usually had to back off and do only 15s or at most 20s subs.

I was able to get 4 min subs with guiding using my AVX & SCT. Never managed 5 min subs. Even with good guiding & PA, an AVX has troubling handling those 2000mm of focal length.

In fact, it produces Polar Alignments in line with those from long Drift Alignment sessions (20-60 Arcsec) - while the best a Polar cope can do is 1-5 Arcmin.
Hey, I had forgotten about that feature! I used it once when I first got the scope but then have since just used the regular alignement procedures including four calibration stars.

I'll give the ASPA another go on my next clear night.
