Default Announcement: AFPOD (AstronomyForum Photo of the Day).

AstronomyForum.net is proud to announce our new AFPOD (AstronomyForum Photo of the Day).

Each day one of the moderator team will select an image or drawing to be posted as the AFPOD. There will be a 'stickie' at the top of the Astro Imaging forum with the daily AFPOD. When the previous days image is 'un-stickied' it will be linked to a "AFPOD Hall of Fame" so all of the images / sketch can be seen in one place.

The only requirements we have is that the image / sketch must be your own and it must be posted to AF.net (no external links). If you include say a link to Astrobin ALONG with the AF.net post it's fine. We just want to have the images / sketch as part of the AF.net forum so we don't need to worry about 'missing links'.

Keep an eye out for our first AFPOD pick!
    Gordon

I for one like the idea, and am looking forward to checking this out But I have to think, isn't this a fair bit of extra work for the mods? I say that as I can imagine they have enough to do already; especially with an unruly lot such as us... Nah, just kidding on that last part, but being a moderator on any forum can't be easy.
All that to say, even though I'm not a moderator, if there is anything I can do to help in this AFPOD idea, I'm more than willing. I'm usually on here every day anyways

Again, great idea, looking forward to the daily pictures!

    All the best,

    Hi Gordon,

Which one of the Mods can we pat on the back for coming up with this idea, because it is a very good one?

    Cheers,

This came about as I was helping to go through all of the images for the September AP contest. Sooo many great images get put aside because we have to narrow it down to just one per category.

We just have so many great images and sketches that never get any recognition!

    It should be fun!
