Default July 2017 Beginner Astrophotography award!

The AF.net moderator team is proud to announce our July 2017 Beginner Astrophotography Award.

The StarTools software is being presented to sza85 (Árpád)

Árpád was selected randomly based on his recent discussion about beginning the Astrophotography journey.

We hope that the StarTools software will help him along with the deep sky stuff.
    __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __________
StarTools is a new image post-processing application, designed from the ground up for astronomical images.
Its novel non-linear processing engine does away with the limitations traditional astrophotographypackages impose, while leap frogging such packages in areas of signal preservation and noise reduction.

We want to thank Ivo (member irwjager) for his generous donation to our effort to assist and grow our members participation to this portion of the Astronomy hobby.

For more information on StarTools, here’s a link to the website: StarTools, Image Processing Software for Astrophotography

Congratulations again to Árpád and we look forward to seeing some great images posted on AF.net!!!

Thank you very much guys! I'm very excited, I never had such a software before. I'm a beginner, so at the moment I'm totally overwhelmed by the features and everything, but I love to learn about astrophotography and astronomy, so I guess we will become close friends with StarTools

So far I took Milky way landscape shots only because I'm lacking equipement (telescope, mount etc) for anything else, but I will take some wide field shots for stacking and I will try to process them. I'm planning to purchase a Star Adventurer soon, that will be great help with longer lenses, because right now, I can't do real deep sky imaging. By the way, is it possible to process landscape photos in StarTools with masking out the foreground? Because if it is, I will experiment with that too.
