    Default August Beginner Astrophotography Award.

The AF.net moderator team is proud to announce our August Beginner Astrophotography Award.

The StarTools software is being presented to Theo (TheoSA).

Theo was selected randomly based on his recent attempts at Astrophotography. We hope that the StarTools software will help him along.

StarTools is a new image post-processing application, designed from the ground up for astronomical images.
Its novel non-linear processing engine does away with the limitations traditional astrophotography packages impose, while leap frogging such packages in areas of signal preservation and noise reduction.

We want to thank Ivo (member irwjager) for his generous donation to our effort to assist and grow our members participation to this portion of the Astronomy hobby.

For more information on StarTools, here’s a link to the website: StarTools, Image Processing Software for Astrophotography

For more information on this new Award from AF.net click on this LINK

Congratulations again to Theo and we look forward to seeing some great images posted on AF.net!!!

Many many many thanks to Gordon and the forum!!! And massive thanks to Ivo too. I will make you proud.
I have actually been very busy with data sets but lamenting the warm South African summer which is approaching which has shot my sensor temps very high so fighting with noise, but working on a Trifid Neb set as we speak to hopefully can show the forum my improvements soon. I have the demo for StarTools so to get a full version is just awesome!!

Thanks again all, and hope I'm at least being useful to the new guys who are asking the questions I was asking a month or so back..
