    Default Bring on the clouds

I'm trying to get the cloud curse over with early, well before winter when I can actually image.

I just placed an order for a Moonlite focuser for my carbon fiber ES102 triplet. It should be stiffer and mo' better. Plus, I purchased the package that comes with the electronic controller/motor for focusing, so no more losing focus over the night, and also not dealing with focuser sag...

I'm stoked. Hopefully we get socked in with clouds over the next two months and the curse lifts well before early September/late August.

Of course, I'm planning some other gear purchases which may bring on the clouds well into 2017 but havent actually hit buy yet

I used to do some AP but I'm purely visual now.

Thanks, guys. I'm definitely looking forward to it. Some of my frustrations with last winter were directly tied to the focuser, so I'm really hopeful about this. Auto focus is going to be great.

All in due time I'm still debating on exactly what path I'm taking... I'd like of like to get rid of my AVX and get something beefier, so it's actually on Craigslist right now. If that sells in the next month, I'll buy another mount and maybe skip getting a CCD this winter. Or I might just get the 383L+ mono and filter wheels and filters and stick with the AVX, havent quite decided yet. But if the AVX doesnt sell, then it makes the decision for me!
