    Hi,

Can't answer your question. More information about what equipment you used, camera settings, etc. would be helpful

Not sure how a 210mm lens with a 2x teleconverter gets to 840mm (crop factor doesn't count as real focal length in AP - crop factor is NOT magnification) - or did you mean you had 2 converters? - in which case the focal ratio is going to be more than f5.6...?So you have a 420mm focal length. The squiggles look like aircraft light trails to me...

a legacy lens on my Olympus camera doubles the size due to sensor, so a 210mmSLR on the DSLRbody is 420mm equivalant, add a 2X adaptor to it and you got 840mm.

Aircraft trails i would guess would be much longer for a 60 sec exposure.

    Thanks!

If the aircraft lights were flashing, I think they would look just like that.

No it doesn't. It gives you the field of view of an 840mm lens but the focal length (the size of an equivalent telescope for example) is absolutely 420mm.You are probably right - aircraft trails are usually flashing lights and leave a straight but broken line or a series of dots. I have no idea what those things are - you would have to look at individual frames (not the DSS stack) to learn more...

OK I think I know what they are. They are hot pixels. If you study the trails carefully you will see that they are exactly one pixel wide. You need to take dark frames to deal with these. However you may be able to change the DSS settings to use kappa-sigma stacking which - because your hot pixels are in a different place on each frame - might get rid of them. (see attachment)

I thought it might be hot pixels, I do use darks and flats and bias. Doing some more darks now actualy, they tend to heat up and become more pixalated as i do them so im going to clean them up and do 10 at a time and let them cool down.
Winter is no problem but in somer i get allot of color distortion at times.
