    Below is an example of the banding problem I was getting and it was becoming really intrusive as my processing techniques progressed. Then by chance some-one posted a suggestion on another forum that removing the SD card if downloading to a laptop seems to eliminate the problem. I removed the card and although I haven't noticed the problem ever since. Sorry I can't explain it more technically but they reckoned the card does something to the data when downloading.

    So i whipped out the memory card..no more issues.

    Can only assume there is stuff happening in between the physical process of writing an image to the card and pushing it through to the PC. Somewhere, electrical charge is being introduced into the image file

    Anyway..problem solved!
    After that lots of people tried it (including me) and found they no longer got the horizontal lines.
