    Jim,
Thank you for the Polar Alignment Wizard report... I share your burden of too many trees blocking the view and I've never been able to get a star based polar alignment to work. Fortunately I have a good view of polaris and can get a decent alignment with a polar scope however I'd like to improve the polar alignment accuracy/capability here.

And, yes, I believe it was you who made the initial comment about using AT for Polar Alignments... As we are in the midst of our rainy season here, and with a tougher winter than normal, I've had the mounts in storage since the 20th of December... I'm looking forward with crossed fingers that we are going to be getting some good weather here once we get into May and I'm planning ahead about trying out the Polar Alignment function in AT. Polar alignments here are always a problem due to tall old growth Pine and Oaks trees surrounding my property and I've been busy with the chainsaw as time and weather permits and have removed three oak trees that were in tough shape and have a couple truckloads of branches and slash piled up to be hauled away when the weather improves... Hopefully my efforts are going to get me a bit more visibility this year to the east and south even though its still through the trees...

High on my list of priorities is to learn about the Polar alignment function of AT now that I have improved visability as compared to past years...

In the meanwhiole as I write this, the rain is pounding down on the roof and I'm getting sick of listening to it...

    Thanks again for your post...
    Thanks, Mitch - K1FH

I made my first star trail image in 1949 and have collected too much gear to list ever since...
