    Default Webcam photography programs(?)

I have seen some software programs that promise to convert webcam input to stacked stills, real time, allowing for long exposure shots of deep space.

Has anyone any experience with these?

Anyone know of any freeware versions?

In real time? Not sure, but I'd be interested to know more.

    I think that Deep Sky Stacker Live can do that . . . . ? I'm not sure . . .

I've checked out the Deep Sky webpage. They have photo's posted of Nebula, which until now I didn't think was possible using a webcam. I'm going to do some downloading of their trial stuff, and see if I can get it to work. If it actually works (I have an iOption webcam), I'll purchase it and get back on it.

I have used Astrovideo software. It was originally designed to stack (live) webcam images. It also will subtract dark frame prior to live stacking of the image. Although not free (I think it is about $39), I had great success with it. I personally feel it has more features than Deep Sky. If you want to check it out, here is the link:

I tried the Deep Sky imager program last night, but unfortunately the program would not recognize my iOptron camera.
