    Amallore,

Mind if I ask a personal question? Where and how much did you have to pay for your Celestron SE 6. I've been shopping and all sites have the same price. Is there no competition for a sale on these items?

Celestron does a pretty good job of controlling the floor on dealers' pricing to protect the little guys... Although most will tell you it's not enough. A dealer nets about $50 profit on a CGEM for example.

You can do some short exposure deep sky stuff up to about 90 seconds depending on where the object is on the horizon, and planetary imaging all night long. Unfortunately field rotation becomes an issue with long exposures.

    Hey sxinias,

I really appreciate you sharing all this valuable information that comes straight from personal knowledge. The images in the links are amazing. When I saw the Orion nebula in your picture and compared it to what I saw through my EP last night, I know what's in store for me if I work hard enough at it. I am an amateur beginner at AP. I have decided to take things slowly in. I have a 5SE with standard accessories kit. Wish to expand it one thing at a time and take full pleasure of enjoying the skies. Currently I use a smart phone to capture images through the EP (sounds crude, I know). I plan to get a Tring and a T adaptor then on and explore all the possibilities to click the solar system, as is allowable by my instrument, from different locations. And finally I will move in the direction of upgrading the kit to capture DSOs. This way I will take full advantage of Alt az mount, EP imaging, piggy back imaging, then EQ mount (with the wedge), and finally stacking and long exposures. Please guide me if I am on a wrong road. Thank you once again.

    best,
    Jigar.
