Here's my humble back yard rig. Permanent pier, all controlled from inside my screened porch. No more mosquitoes. Built from Schedule 80 PVC, rebar and concrete inside the pipe, with the blind flange on top cut to accomodate the mount. Did the entire project myself. Beautiful thing about it is that if I remove the mount, I remove the blind flange as well, and with the alignment marks on the mount and flange, it is almost perfectly lined up when I reattach it all to the pier.

None at all. Well I take that back. If I whack the pipe with my wiffle ball bat, it will shake for roughly two seconds.

The pipe is actually sunk about 6-1/2 feet into the ground.

    Hi Jason
I had a 4" SHS pipe pier with heavy walls and it vibrated like a tuning fork - it too was hanging off about 1/2 ton of concrete and rock substrate - I think the fact it was held so tightly was what made it 'sing'

In the last week, I added to my "arsenal" two refractors: Skywatcher 70/500 (for guiding and visual, very good portability) and Skywatcher 90/900 (portable enough). I attached a picture, too. The explanations are in romanian, but not so hard to translate.
Down left, Canon 550D and lenses, down right, the bag with eyepieces and accesories. I have another tripod, home made (wood), but it's not in the picture.

MY celestron astromaster 114eq with canon 550d attached and canon550d with macro tube extender and lens. I do not use the lens with the tube extender for AP but I use the tube extender with the telescopes to help focus. My pictures of my other telescopes are too large to attach. 100_0769.JPG100_0785.JPG
