    Default FedEx delivery blues?

Hey, I hear rumors that FedEx will sometimes list something as
delivered on their tracking website, even though you haven't received
it yet. Then, you get it the next delivery day.

The drivers do that so as to avoid penalties for missing scheduled
    delivery dates.

Anyone else have that problem, or am I about to go through a big claim
hassle over a scope I was supposed to get Friday, then Saturday (the
day they show it delivered), now FedEx support has left a message with
the local office when they open Tuesday morning.

Is this unique? I've never had the problem with FedEx before. Holy
Cow, even UPS has been very good for me.

    Hi:

In my experience it can be even worse. A mount I ordered was shown
"delivered," but never showed up. Contacted the vendor who determined
that the truck carrying my mount has crashed and burned on the
    Interstate!

I still prefer them to the Brown Dudes, though. ;-)

watchful eye to put the notice on my door. There was no knock. There was
    no doorbell.

Wasn't there a post in s.a.a about a year ago with a guy who not only got
his scope broken by the UPS delivery guy, but also got beaten badly by him,
after complaining about him throwing the package over the fence without
    care?

I searched on Google but could not locate it. The way that person wrote this
post made me laugh for an hour. Sorry to not remember who that was...

As Rod says, it can be worse. They can also claim it's not in the system,
and take over two weeks to admit that they've lost your package.

    Good luck to you.

So who eats the loss, I wonder? The scope's company says that they use
    "insured FedEx."

I wonder if someone thought the Telescope Fairy dropped off a gift at
their house. It's not really a starter scope, so I hope whoever winds
up with it knows how to use it!
