Last week the user who donated "Galactica" to me ( it's getting used a lot
too ) sent me two of those head lamps that can be either white light or red
light to use when I'm in the dark for personal viewing, and today from
another user I got a box with a bunch of back issures of Sky & Telescope to
add to the stack of astro magazines ( mostly Astronomy ) that I had out to
the kids that want to know more about the stars, planets, etc.

So a Thanks goes out to both of them and all the others here too.

Well, Dennis, now you can sit out in the dark and read S&T without
screwing up your night vision. It may puzzle a few passersby, though

And those S&T back issues came today and with them the winds "again" are
ablowing. Like living in a wind tunnel.
and then the battery in my new pocket watch has gone dead. Sometimes I think
I'm holding ACE's and 8's in my hand.

Yep, the desert wind's been pretty bad. I just spent a couple hours in
the observatory, dialing in the ETX125 on polar alignment. Nice little
scope, but the seeing tonight was just terrible.
