 McNeil's nebula Between haze and clouds I managed to get a few shots at McNeil's nebula last night with my homebuilt cookbook 245 camera on a 4.5" short-tube Newtonian on a Vixen GP-DX mount. Despite the poor conditions (and telescope!) the small nebula was easily captured in a 2 min unguided exposure. (Posted to a.b.p.astro). The nebula was easy to locate near M78, which was in the same camera field. pej -- Per Erik Jorde      |
