Default Pentax (8-24mm) vs Leica (20-60x Vario) Zoom Eyepieces

    Hi Group ___

    1. Thinking about purchasing one of these two eyepieces for "quick
look" purposes on my 8" SCT.

    2. Anyone have any experience with or opinions on which one is
    superior?

    Thanks Group!

    Hello Janet,

I don't have much to offer except that I have a buddy who raves about his
Zeiss 8.4-25.1mm zoom. APM sells them.

    Regards,
    Ed T.

I have the 8-24mm Pentax and it works great in all my scopes from F5 to F12.5
and 80mm ED refractor to 10" Dob. It has 20mm eye relief at all FL compared to
11mm ER at shorter FL in some of the German Zoom eyepieces.
