    Default Leica Service Came Through!

About a week ago I posted here a problem with Leica...I sent my Leica
zoom eyepiece in for a cleaning and when it was returned to me it was
scratched in two places. I returned the eyepiece last Thursday and
today UPS delivered a brand new, latest version zoom eyepiece...no one
called...it just arrived and I'm SHOCKED. When Leica messed up they
then stepped up and offered more than I would have thought possible!
This is customer service of the highest order!

    Default Leica Service Came Through!

    Rich;
I've written a glorious thank you note. I haven't used this new one
yet BUT I used my original zoom with an astro adapter for my C9.25 and
I love it...wouldn't part with it. Very sharp images....huge FOV as
the power ramps up...I use this especially for high power planetary
observing and having the ability to dial in the perfect magnification
for a particular evenings seeing conditions is great.
This is the zoom for those who would not normally consider this type
of eyepiece (feeling zooms are compromises)...This is certainly the
best zoom, by far, that I've ever looked through....the only downside
is that the FOV gets a bit narrow at 22mm (I happen to have a Leica
fixed f.l. 22mm eyepiece which is up with the Panoptic in terms of
optical quality). You can occasionally find zoom lens on E-Bay.
